    Hello,

i am new here and have a questinon.
I create several client groups for exampel "Windows Server" in SEPM. In this group i create a client installation package.

If thougt that the rollout starts if i put a client pc in this group but nothing happens.

What did i wrong or is it not possible that the package was enrolled automaticaly after puting the client in the group?

    Thank you very much!!!

The clients need to check in first to check and accept the upgrade package. Did you verify if this has occurred?

You need to install the SEP client on the machines manually first or using the SEP wizard. Once the SEP clients have checked into the groups then when you use the auto upgrade it will upgrade SEP clients in that group.

It will not auto upgrade to a machine that has no SEP client installed on it. This is not an auto roll out feature unfortunatly

The checks in automatically based on its heartbeat setting or you can manually check it in by right clicking the shield in the task tray and selecting "Update Policy". You can also go to Start >> Run and type 'smc -updateconfig'

    Thanks a lot!

"Check In" in my words: Install the SEP local on the client or by push installation from SEPM.
And it's "Checked In" when the shild has the green dot and it becomes the newest Policys.

    Is this Correct?

Correct. Green dot on the shield indicates connectivity to the SEPM.

    I am upgrading from SEP 12.1.7166.6700 (RU6 MP7)  to SEP 14.1

What I have noticed is there are two notification boxes that pop up on the client computer ...

1st box - "Symantec Endpoint had detected that a newer version of the software is available.  Do you want to download and install it now?"

2nd box appears a bit later after the download has completed - "The Symanec Endpoint installation requires this computer to restart."

Is there a way to avoid the 1st box?  I don't recall seeing this in past upgrades.

Never seen this before. Is it the cloud product?

I am not sure what you are asking ... SEPM 14.0.1 build 3752

What I'm asking is whether it is the on-prem or cloud version of SEP. From your post it looks like on-prem (Enterprise). If so, I've not see this before so I can't say. Perhaps a call to support is needed.

I think I found it ... In notification for the install package, I had Notify users before upgrade checked ... I bet that was it.

    Cool. Never used it myself.

That was it ... I never use the Notify Users box ... I unchecked the box and saved the install package and it is working fine now.
