hi everybody
i think that it is not only my trouble that SEP autoprotect do not scan files within archives
i think it will be reasonable to add a feature to scan archives by a size limit (file size can be set by administrator)
please tell your opinions for this situation - may be Symantec programmers will be polite and help us
thanks)

Auto-Protect will scan only when a file is accessed or modified.
But if you have scheduled a full scan that should scan your archives.

Well, ideally SEP Auto protect will not scan an archive file by default as it's per design. Though if you run a manual scan, you can scan to a max of 11 levels deep in Archive files.
You can set the Scan Level options for how deep you wish to scan in the SEP scan settings tab on the client.

As Vikram said that auto protect will scan only when a application is lunched or a file is accessed or modified.. But when a file is archive it is non active hence auto protect will not scan it.
I hope this answers you query..

@Viachaslau:
This is not supported in SEP. You'd have to manually scan the files by Rt. Click > Scan for Viruses option. I'd recommend that you add this requirement to the IDEAS Section on the forum for Engg. to work on.
The feature request is pretty logical and straightforward. I believe most of the users would want such a capability. I would!
