  • 1.  Avoid first database replication

    Is it possible when adding a replication partner to avoid the first whole replication cycle during the wizard?  The database contains all LU content and install packages which we dont want to replicate at all.

    I would actually recommend creating a new IDEA to change the default behaviour on the initial repliction to omit client packages & defs as well as the logs.

    This would get replication up and running with the smallest data requiring transfer.

    It should be up to us to decide how to get defs on the new site.

    In the meantime, the work around is to reduce the number of defs retained before setting up the partner site, or go down the below article's route:

    That's not a solution though, it's creating a solution for a problem that shouldn't exist.

    You're still replicating the entire database, you're just choosing when to do it.  If you don't intend on replicating LU content or client packages then why should they be transferred?
