  • 1.  AWS Marketplace Image for SPE Cloud Services for Windows 7.5 crashes!

    I launch a new EC2 instance using AWS Marketplace, choosing Windows as the OS.

    I remote desktop into the newly created system and notice that Symantec engine (symcscan.exe) keeps starting and stopping.

    The service is in stopped state, then starting, then stopped.

    I look in Windows Event Viewer log and see a lot of app crashes.

    Seems like the image on the marketplace is no good -- the application crashes and the service never starts (service recovery options are set to constantly try to restart it, but it fails each and eveyr time in an endless loop).

     

    I tried the Linux image and it works fine.  But I would prefer the Windows image to work when I pay for the service and launch from the Marketplace with normal, default options!

    What version of SPE are you running there?

    Just attempting to spin up a 2016 server with SPE 7.9 and it is will not even start, just crashes.  I am wondering if it is a v7.9 issue.
