  • 1.  B Exec agent install fails. What are agent pre-reqs?

    I have a Backup Exec media server (2008 Standard) using BExec15. I have copied the RAWS x64 files to a new server in order to install agent. (Remote install failed)

    Upon launching the setup.exe I get error of:    Microsoft VC++ Rdistributables (x64) "Installation Failed). I downloaded the VC_Redistrib x64.exe from Microsoft and installed successfully.

    I still get same error when trying to install agent. And, the log says "failed to execute SQL Express setup".

     

    What is required on a server to install this agent?

     

    When I try to create this forum question, it did not give me the option of choosing the BExec community of products.
