Ghost Solution Suite

I have 3 computers, 2 different system types. 2 are Lenovo and 1 is a Dell.

On all 3 when trying to push an updated image back to the server, the Ghostcast gets to 99% and the computers show Bad Block(s) encountered on read. I can pull images from the server with no issue. We use a NAS to store images and it currently has over 200GB free space.

I've tried multiple times and it keeps getting the same error. All 3 machines work fine and have no HDD issues. I've tried no compression and fast compression, both to no avail. I've never had an issue when creating images with these machines in the past.

Any ideas on what could be the issue?

What version of Ghost?

DOS boot or WinPE?

How large are the drives you are backing up?

Are you creating partition or disk images?

If you are using a DOS boot, I recommend you try WinPE.

Backing up disk image and the sizes are roughly 4GB.

We've done this literally hundreds of times. It's just now become an issue. Different machines, different brands, different locations...all getting the same error.

Check the NAS - defragment, chkdsk, etc. Never rule out hardware issues, especially as this problem appears to have the NAS as the common factor.

Yea, we figured it might be a file system error or something with the NAS, so I tried saving it to the install drive of the server and same error at 99%. I'm going to do a clean install via the CD and try to push that back with no updates and work from there. Major pain, but I guess that's life in IT.
