  • 1.  Boot to PXE, UEFI, from virtual machine (VMWare Workstation 12)

We are testing GSS 3.1 right now and have a WinPE 10 boot image, which works on physical computers with UEFI enabled and also works on hyper-v gen 2 machines.

But when I create a new virtual machine in VMWare workstation 12, and enable UEFI, it can't boot to PXE.

    Anyone has simular issues?

Do you get a PXE error or after the PXE server delivers the Wim files then the system won't boot?   I had not yet tested the win 10 pxe in my VMware esxi environment but intend to get that set up and going this week.

Did you research this in relation to VMWare?

Try these that a simple google search threw up:

    https://community.landesk.com/support/docs/DOC-27736

    https://communities.vmware.com/thread/519168

Sticking in a bios delay and using one CPU are two of the suggestions worth trying.

Thanks for the replies, I have VMWare workstaion 12 with EFI support buildin.

and I only saw a blank screen when booting PXE while booting a laptop in same network works.
