  • 1.  Calculate time for encrypting a folder/drive

    Hello all.
    Can anyone provide any way to calculate how much time encryption for a folder/drive would take using File Share Encryption? I know, there are hundred of factors that influence this numbers. Just wanted to know from your experience if I can have some numbers as a baseline.

    Create your own baseline.  You know what the specs are of the server you are using as fileshare.  Remember its the client computer that encrypts and decrypts the data.  Encrypt a 1GB file and note the time on a machine that will be indicitive of the environment you're installing FileShare into.  Just doing it on your own PC will give misleading times, do it as part of the pilot / POC
