  • 1.  Can App Meter 7(.1) meter dll-usage?

    Dear All,

     

    Does anyone know if Application Metering 7(.1) can meter dll-usage? I need to meter Oracle 11g, which does not have an exe.

    I don't think so...it only accepts .exe filetypes due to the way it "hooks" the process. You might be able to meter other .dll by metering rundll32.exe, then parsing the command line...but that would be a stretch. Sorry! Maybe someone else will have another solution...

    I think you're limited to .exe's.  If you have it defined as a software resource, perhaps try adding the software resource to a policy?  Perhaps it will pick up some sort of .exe.  I'm not familiar with the 11g install.

    Only .exe files can be metered at this time.

    Thanks for that. I am now metering applications that use the Oracle Client instead of the dll itself.
