  • 1.  Can I create Client Activity Alert

    The client on our server had an error this morning:  File system auto-protect is not functioning correctly...

    It was an easy fix but I realized it would be good to be alerted if any of the client software was not functioning.

    There was a log entry that I was able to retrieve thru log type: system, Content: client activity, AntiVirus engine event...
    But I cannot find any way of producing a event (to email to me) for the same event.
    I think I looked thru all the notification options - but maybe I am missing something.

    Any help would be great.

    you dont have it as of now, its not there
    please put it under ideas section, will be nice to see these in future release.

    You'd think they would have alerts for clients failing....

    they have it but its not under notification, you can generate a report manualy
    logs
    log type:system
    log content; client activity
    click on advanced
    select Event type:antivirus engine events

    I'm not sure if we have this.... There is indeed a "Client activity" under Monitors-> notifications -> notification conditions.... Normally, we use this to create notifications for app &device control.... Can you please check if you have one there? ... If not, yes... post it under "ideas", I say ... You will have my vote.. :)

    Under Monitors-> notifications -> notification conditions there is "Client List Change" and "Client Security Alert" - no Client Activity.

    In logs "Client Activity" is under System - but it does not appear on Notification.

    as Alerts for Client Error

    Which is the basic idea. You should be able to receive an alert if you have clients becoming disabled in one way or another.
    Users certainly won't notice - or alert you if they do.
