  • 1.  Can I execute service_shutdown remotely ?

    Hi Guys

     

     

    Anybody had runned the "service_shutdown.exe" remotely ?


    I need to use the cleanup agent in our environment, around 1000 machines but before I need to the service and we I try using the DLP GUI but its not work as expected.

    Yes, we all get into such situations, from time-to-time. The way we accomplished this task was by:

     - place the service_shutdown tool on a SHARE accessible to all Endpoints

     - download and run the psexec tool

     - run psexec (a) on the entire list of system where you need to execute service shutdown along with (b) the \\sharename\service_shotdown -p=xxxxx command.

    If we execute the service shutdown tool from Remote location it doesn't work as it cannot access the keystore. We need to copy this tool to endpoint installation directory to execute this utility sucessfully.
