  • 1.  Can IT Analytics accomplish automated Patch Compliance Charts?

We have not installed and configured IT Analytics yet and wanted to hear some feedback on its capabilities.

I have taken the Windows Compliance by Computer report, set the Release Date from 1/1/2012 to current date, category limited to Security Updates, and Distribution Status to Downloaded, then export that to Excel.  I then create a pivot chart with that information that lays out like below.

Compliance percentages are grouped by 10 and the count of computers in those groups is the blue column.  The red column is the count of computers in that group with Restart Pending.  I find this give a very good view of the entire Patch Compliance.

A second view of the same data might also be a good representation but it is more effort

I would like to know if I can re-create this in IT Analytics and schedule this data/chart to be produced daily or weekly for comparison.  The process described above is somewhat tedious and I wanted to know if IT Analytics is capable of removing the tedious effort and can create these charts fully configured, labeled and saved on a schedule.

It would be nice if there was some basic direction on how best to achieve these charts in IT Analytics.  I am hoping that this is somewhat similar to using Excel to create PivotCharts but I have not found a good guide yet for IT Analytics.

Thanks for taking the time to review this, I look forward to responses.

Yes I believe that an ITA report could present this information.

Darren Prager from BayDynamics has created many articles explaining how to use ITA, so please search this site for them after reviewing the documentation provided with the product.
