  • 1.  Can´t receive emails from outside

    Hello all !

    I´m having some problems with my SGB (8.0.3).

    Everything was running smoothly last week, but now some users aren´t receiving emails from outside the company.

    We haven´t made any major change in our infrastructure, i´ve looked the exchange logs and the exchange server is Ok.

    I´ve read the administration guide I wasn´t able to find the information needed.

    Please, could someone give me some thought?

    Hi Thompson,

    Are those messages being blocked by SBG? 

    I suggest start out by checking the Message Audit Logs to see what's happening to the messages that are coming into SBG.  Please see the section titled "About message audit logging" on page 424 in SBG 8.0 Administration Guide.

    Thank you for your answer.

    Yes, they are...but this happen only to a few...not all organization.

    The action taken from the SBG was to drop all messages destinated to that specific person, but i didnt change anything on SBG. This behavior is very strange.

    Ill continue to look on administration guide, but can you or someone out there help me?

    For the specific user that's not receiving the message, are you able to find anything in the Message Audit Logs?  What do the Message Audit Logs show under the heading of "Verdict" "Actions Taken", and "Delivery"?  Can you paste a screenshot?

    This is the first step in finding out what's happening to the messages that are supposed to be received by one of your users.

    Well...im guessing the SBG isn´t find the mailbox...see images below.

    "Action taken: Drop invalid recipients" means that you have enabled Invalid Recipient Handling feature (Protocols > Invalid Recipients) after configuring an LDAP Synchronization source, but SBG is not able to resolve the recipient for some reason.  At this point, I can think of 2 possiblities for this issue:

    1. The user that's not receiving the mails is a new one and his/her information has just not replicated to the scanners:

    In this case, simply make sure that both LDAP to CC and CC to Scanners Synchronization (on Status > LDAP Synchronization) has completed successfully.  You can perform a manual LDAP to CC synchronization using the Synchronize Changes option and CC to Scanners replication using Replicate Now option.  If any of these fails, then it means that you are running into LDAP Synchronization issue mentioned below.


    2. There is some problem with LDAP Synchronization:

    If you any any errors on LDAP Synchronization status page (Status > LDAP Synchronization), then I suggest temporarity disabling the "Drop invalid recipients" option and focus on troubleshooting the LDAP Synchronization issue.
