  • 1.  cannot add directory server

    having some issues adding directory server on endpoint protection manager 12.1.6

    I go go Server Properties, Directory Servers, put in the IP adress of my AD server, select Active Directory, put in user name ( have tried just username and domain\username) and password, then select box for Secure Connection.

     

    when I hit OK, I get warning "ad server may be down [path=LDAPS://xxx.xxx.xxx:636, user=domain\username] do you want to add it anyway?

    if I click on yes, it does not connect.  if I do NOT select Use Secure Connection it still does not connect.

    I have changed the local security settings on the domain controller to "LDAP server signing requirements - none", but it made no difference.

    the address of the DC is correct, and the username and password I use is correct, what else can I look at?

    Look at the scm-server-0.log file on the SEPM, it should give a bit more detail in this log.
