  • 1.  Cannot encrypt drive, error 12000

    New Lenovo L460, Western Digital 500GB SSD.  Windows 7 Pro 64.  Using the client to perform all operations (10.3, 2013).  Getting this error when I attempt to begin encryption after installing.  Ran dskchk, same problems.  Any ideas?  TIA.

    Hello Stu H,

    What is the exact version of Symantec Drive Encryption are you installing. Symantec Drive Encryption 10.3.0 and previous did not support computers using UEFI firmware and would run into this issue, therefore, this issue could occur if computers are running UEFI firmware without emulated BIOS.
