Endpoint Protection

I installed SEP 11 to one of our client and encountered this problem. When I pushed the SEP client to the target PC with installed Powerbuilder, it didnt get through. There is an error at the client side seems the client package is trying to uninstall Powerbuilder as its error is "cannot find uninstall". I installed the SEPM using the built in Sybase Anywhere on it as its database and I assume that it has conflict with Powerbuilder. Anyone please help how to resolve this problem.

If the installation fails there is a log created.

Please paste the SEP_INST.log file from the temp folder.

Also you may get the SEP_INST.log at the following location

Start - Run - %temp%\SEP_INST.log

I am sure these two are unrelated, but there was a bug with RU5 when using Application and Device Control that would cause some application that were built with Powerbuilder to not work any longer.  This was due to SEP using the same base memory address for one of their drivers as Powerbuilder would use in its' compiled applications.

blenahan, I guess you are right. But do you have any suggestion to do work around? Our client may not accept the external database option.

Well if you are using RU5, I would suggest getting the latest version, which is RU6a.

this is the  version of the SEP I am using: 11.0.6005.562. This the only issue that i am encountering now. worst come to worst, i may advise the client to have a separate database but for sure, they wont accept of spending additional investment for MSSQL.

Do you have a sample installer of powerbuilder version 5. we want to test if upgrading it will really resolved the issue.
