  • 1.  Cannot Uninstall SEPM

    Hi Everyone,

    Am getting an error while Uninstalling SEPM, it gives error could connect to the database server.

    on the other hand am Successfull in logging in to SQL server with the same credentials that am entering during Remove Database Uninstall Step.

     

    Please Suggest

    Hello,

    Stop the SEPM services and then try to uninstall it.

    Hi Ambesh,

    I have tried that but was unsucessfull.

    Also restarted the server and changed the Authentication to Windows from SQL.

    is the DB on remote machine?

    can you use cleanwipe?

    Seems like your DB is on remote SQL

    During uninstall process you can select not to delete the DB. once SEPM is uninstalled you can remove the SEM5.db from SQL.

    HI,

    Agreeing  with Rafeeq’s answer, remove the SEPM without deleting DB, remove the SEM5 db after this using SQL management studio.

    Thank you for posting in Symnatec community.

    Is there any replication configured?

    You must turn off replication before you attempt to uninstall a Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager that is set up for replication. After you turn off replication, you can restart the computer from which you want uninstall the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager, and then you can perform the uninstallation.

    To uninstall Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager

    1. On the server computer, on the Start menu, click Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.

    2. In the Add or Remove Programs dialog box, select Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager, and then click Remove.
