  • 1.  Can't find driver name in protocol.ini

    Posted Jul 10, 2007 12:48 PM
I just received a copy of GSS 2.0 and when I create a cd-rom boot disk with the correct nic dos driver then try to boot up the system to pull over a ghost image from my image server I receive the above error message.

    I have tried the following:
1- downloaded an updated B57xxx.dos driver = no go
2- added win98 ms-dos files to ghost boot disk wizard and still no go?

Any advice is welcomed and Thanks

Make sure that in the Driver properties / Template properties (symantec Ghost Boot Wizard,  Network Interface Card) that the Driver name is the same as the filename, minus the .dos

    As an example:

Im currently using a realtek driver called RTEND.DOS so the Driver Name should be RTEND

You'll find that if you click OK, the program will add a $ on the end and make it RTEND$

This would also match the protocol.ini you might have got as an example with the custom .dos driver.
