    Hi folks,

I'm trying to install the SEE Management Server in a Windows 2012 Server but when i try to select the DB server, it doesn't appear in the server list. My DB server is a SQL 2008 R2 in a Windows Server 2008 and even if a try to install the Database locally in the 2012 server, the server does not appears in the list.

Both SQL Server Agent and SQL Browser services are running in the 2008 Server.

Do i need to install anything else to make it work for i can proceed the SEE installation?

    Hi,

I would suggest to go through installation guide. http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC9278

This guide provides a step-by-step walk through to install the software including the following:

    • Pre-installation tasks
    • Installing Symantec Endpoint Encryption
    • Configuring the Symantec Endpoint Encryption Management Server
    • Configuring the database
    • Installing the Management Console
    • Using the Symantec Endpoint Encryption Management Server Configuration Manager
    • Deploying Clients

Hey Chatan, thanks for your response.

I downloaded the installation guide and i'm getting some kinds of errors that i can't find in the file. After i choose which server i wanna use and connect with SQL Server admin Credentials (SA user) i'm getting the following error:

    Sem título2.jpg

The translation of the portuguese message after the english error is: "It was not possible to convert some or all identity references"

How can i proceed with this?

I appreciate your help and attention.

Are you using beta version of database?

Refer this guide: Error 25108. Cannot store Master Password to DB - Endpoint Encryption Management Server v11.1

Have you enabled SQL Server Browser?

You must enable the SQL Server Browser. To enable the SQL Server Browser, do the following:

    1. Launch the SQL Server Configuration Manager.
    2. Open Properties and select the Service tab.
    3. Click the arrow next to Start Mode and select Automatic.
    4. Right-click SQL Server Browser and click Start.

In this article you will find it at the end. http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH225310

What if you manually provided SQ database instance path like server/instance, you need to go to the machine where SQL is installed and find the server/instance & paste it in the SEE server database instance and then browse.

If trying to install SQL locally try to put 'Local' in the database instance and then select browse.

    Hey Chetan,

I'm able now to find the SQL Instance in the installation after use the pdf file that you recomended. Now, the issue is that error message that i sent above, telling that it's not possible to store Master Password to DB.

Anyway, i also tried to install using localhost and with SA admin credentials, but i had no lucky yet.

This can be caused by a mismatch in the name of the certificate, and the name entered in the SEEMS installation wizard. For example, using a Fully Qualified Domain Name for the certificate, but only entering the Hostname in the installation wizard.

Make sure that the Hostname entered in the Database Instance field matches the name on the certificate. If you are using a Named Instance of SQL, you will need to include the instance name as well.
