    Hi,

So I have a trial version of the "Symantec™ Drive Encryption for Linux" version 10.4.1. It's installed on a system with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

I am able to get it installed and I am able to encrypt just fine, but when I try to reboot, everything crashes on the initramfs.

I've tried encrypting all partitions and just doing the encryption for the entire drive.

When I get past the pgp bootgaurd it does load up grub and through the grub command line I am able to see everything in the encrypted partitions just fine, and the initramfs loads up fine which is stored in an encrypted partition. Initramfs even has pgpwde in /dev, so I know that pgpwde is loaded up in there. It just does not seem to be able to mout the encrypted drives whihc means I can't launch Ubuntu.

Also of note if I encrypt just a partition that is just mounted onto /var/log, it will boot up fine but ubuntu will not mount the partition on start up. I have to run "pgpwde --auth" and then run the mount command.

Because this is a trail version I am unable to contact tech support about this so now I am coming here for help.

Any help would be greatly aprciated.

    Thank you in adavnce.

    Quick addition to this:

I tried rebuilding the system with only one partition on /, and I am still getting the same issues.

I have no idea why but it seems like the Authentication that is supposed to be passed via bootgaurd is just not being passed to the initramfs and the ubuntu Kernel.
