  • 1.  CCS - Unable to launch the console

    Posted Nov 03, 2011 03:55 AM

    Hi All,

Just a background: I have successfully created a demo environment for CCS. Have been using to for the past few days, everything was working perfect. Yesterday i received the following error while opening the console:

    Unable to launch the console

Details: Error occured while downloading application configuration file

I am trying to access the console from the same server where CCS is deployed. Have gone through the Symantec KB articles as well. Application Server services are up and running and the SPN is also registered to the Domain Administrator account.

Can anyone please shed some light here?

I recently had a similar issue and recommend checking the logs in eventvwr to see where the failure points are and the ID may be trying to access a folder it does not have access to so may be permissions.

We had to assign the rights on that specific folder for the ID and EVERYONE and then it worked.  It was strange because our ID was local admin on the server, domain admin, etc.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

    1. Can u upload the screeshot of SPN entries for service account and duplicate SPN. use the CCSSPNUTIL.EXE application which is found in the "c:\program files\symantec\ccs\reporting and analytics\application server" directory on the CCS application server.

    2. also verify that you have allowed the delegation for service account. verify this in user account properties click on delegation tab and check the option allow thsi account for delegation.

    Hi,

I want to know one thing, are you using Symantec Endpoint Protection on the same server?

@Iftikhar: I think you Symantec Application Server Service is not running. To verify go to services.msc and check whether Symantec Application Server Service is running or not. If service is not running then simply start the Symantec Application Server Service and try to launch the CCS Console. Hope it works for you.
