FYI - Sorry to dig up an old thread - I'm trying to exclude the directory:

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Utimaco\SafeGuard Enterprise\LocalCache

But the way its coming through:

    is as this:

    %[COMMON_DOCUMENTS]%C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Utimaco\SafeGuard Enterprise\LocalCache

It cannot be done from the SEPM..even if done it does not work (tested) so you will have to make this exclusion locally on the computer from SEP GUI.

You will have to create this exception on the client locally.

So right now Symantec is still scanning the directory as is? :(  Why can't this be done via SEPM?

Its not that it cannot be done but it is that it does not work..
I haven't tested for All USers\Application data testing it now..

     C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Utimaco\SafeGuard Enterprise\LocalCache

    This will work

    %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Utimaco\SafeGuard Enterprise\LocalCache

    This will not work

Will what I have in place currently work or not?  %[COMMON_DOCUMENTS]%C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Utimaco\SafeGuard Enterprise\LocalCache

    COMMON_DOCUMENTS
The file system folder that contains documents that common to all users. A typical path is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents
    only documents folder will work

GRRR - So only way to do it is through a Reg Tweak?  Can't type in a manually entered directory to be excluded?

     That is just give C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Utimaco\SafeGuard Enterprise\LocalCache

without any prefix and it will work..( tested )
