Endpoint Protection

Hi all

We have a problem running CGRC.EXE on Windows 7 32bit, not on Windows 7 64bit or Vista 32bit or 64bit.

We get an error saying "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005)"

When we uninstall Symantec Endpoint Protection the it works.

Have tried to disable Endpoint Protection, and exclude the file (CGRC.EXE) but that didn't work!!!

Anyone have a suggestion.

I think application and device control is the culprit here.Try by installing SEP RU 6a(11.0.6005)

If you have installed all the features try uninstalling the PTP & NTP and then check for the performance. Get the latest version of SEP i.e. RU6 as suggested by Arvind. If you are running the latest version then try to exclude the entire folder instead of athe exe file its possible that its calling on some other process as well, by this I mean the dependencies of the executing process.

After migrating a Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) 11.0 client to Release Update (RU) 5 or installing RU5, applications fail to initialize properly with error 0xc0000005, or 0xc0000018, or no error message.

I have just updated the Client to 11.0.6005.562 with same result,

I have tried it on a new PC where I have copied only the CGRC.EXE file locally on the c:/temp, and run it from there, same result

Try by installing AV/AS only....

Now I have tried to installe only the antivirus, and it works, why is it that I have to do that on a 32bit and not on the 64bit?????

Why is it that even if I disable the features PTP and NTP it still doesn't work.

I will try to install the PTP to see if it is this feature that causes the error.

In 64 bit OS Application and Device Control will not work.PTP also will not work with in 64 bit os...

I will try to see if I can get around some how with the PTP installed.
