Is it possible to change the log/notification not using mht when send out the notification? Can it be text format? Thanks everyone.

 I agree, I have notice it too. I would prefer different formats for saving available

 @Symantec team : Can this become a formal feature request for say MP2 or even MR5?

I hope this will be happened in the next patch as this is quite important for a Security/AntiVirus Admin when they are using mobile device like windows mobile, iPhone, etc to check the log send by email. 

The next realease version 12 have this feature.

Before the next release, is there any other way that can send out a text notification email?

Is Symantec sleeping with Microsoft on this? A proprietary format? Really? Like they forgot that about half of the users of this product get the messages on a Blackberry? Do you think I'm going to quit using my Blackberry and use a Windows mobile device instead?

We just installed this yesterday after switching from a 'competing product.' To say I'm frustrated is an understatement.

Where did you read that version 12 will have this feature? I am not saying you are wrong I just havn't seen this at all. I also think this might be incorrect just because SEP 12 is a small business edition of SEP 11. It is NOT any sort of an upgrade from SEP 11, but a new product. If you would like more information on SEP 12 please visit the forums here:

I just found this post again, and apparently according to Paul Murgatroyd we will be looking into changing the mht format soon. Although I still don't think it will be in SEP 12 since that is not an upgrade from SEP 11. I will try to keep people posted on this as we hear more. Hope this makes everyone a little happier : )



We are looking into changing the format due to both inability to read the files on mobile devices and the fact that newer mail servers tend to block them.

At this moment in time there is no way to change them though, we are also looking at adding more information to the alert emails
