  • 1.  clean wipe error

    Hi 

     

    Please see error as i need to uninstall endpoint protection and it wont allow me. tried clean wipe and got the error below.

    You need the latest version of cleanwipe. The latest version is 12.1.6 MP5.

    You have the latest SEP client installed but a lower version of cleanwipe so this is the reason for the error.

    Cleanwipe is available on the download file in the Tools directory or you can contact support to get it.

    Hi,

    You should always use the latest version of CleanWipe to remove Symantec Endpoint Protection. CleanWipe can remove older installations of Symantec Endpoint Protection. However, you should not use an older version of CleanWipe to remove a newer version of Symantec Endpoint Protection. This action can have unexpected results.

    You are running SEP 12.1 RU5 (12.1.5337.5000) version Cleanwipe to uninstall latest version of SEP 12.1 RU6 MP5 (12.1.7004.6500):

    To download CleanWipe either contact support OR follow the steps given below 

    1. Download the full installation file for Symantec Endpoint Protection according to the instructions on the knowledge base article Download the latest version of Symantec Endpoint Protection.

      You must have an active support contract to download this file.

    2. Double-click the installation file to extract its contents.

    3. In the folder where you extracted the file, navigate to the following folder:

      \Tools\CleanWipe\

    support helped me with a download link to the lastest software to remove my product.

    I have Norton Security already. I need to uninstall the Trustee endpoint Protection. For some reason I am not able to uninstall it. PLEASE HELP.
