    Good day!
It wanted to get the database cleanup functionality on Altiris NS central server. If we talk specifically - how to delete records obtained by exports from other NS server (automated). Full-time functionality (Purging Maintenance) can only delete computers that are attached to the current NS server. Am i right?

    Hi Alexander,

    1. Purging Maintenance:

    - Allows to purge computers (delete them with their resource(s) association(s) or make them retired to reclaim license usage)

    Purge1.jpg

    - Allows to purge event data, according to your settings. By default it stored 1000000 of events for appropriate SQL table and there are exclusion rules to store more or older events for separate SQL tables

By default "Purging Maintenance" task is scheduled to run every day @ 2:30 AM

    2. "Resource History" purging has following settings to keep data and purge data

    Purge4.jpg

    - Purging of this resource data triggers by "NS.Hidden Purging Maintenance.{16290a7d-3cee-451e-b4d8-96c5784f12ec}" task which executes every day @ 2:30 AM

And other purging, such as "Clean up File Resources", "Connector Run Report Purge Policy"

    Hello, Igor!
Thank you very much for such a detailed instruction.
There is only one problem - using version 7.1.
Look closely at the screenshot - I confused the existence of only one option - the removal of controlled agents server (only one specific server).

How to be if computers were imported from another server?

    "Purging Maintenance" task doesn't purge:

    • Computers which are without "Symantec Management Agent" installed (Or just discovered from AD or from Network)
    • Computers which aren't managed by current Notification Server (as example they were replicated from another NS via Hierarchy replication rule)

You can check which Notification Server manages appropriate computer by "Source" column on "All Resources" page

    "Purging Maintenance" task purges:

    • Computers which are with "Symantec Management Agent" installed and are managed by current Notification Server.
