    Posted Oct 02, 2009 01:31 PM
I used CleanWipe_V5. To remove SEP 11.05 from the server, Routing and Remote Access got broken after the server restarted. I guess the uninstaller wiped something it should not have, now every time I try to start the Routing and Remote Access service I get  errors in the application log.
    1st error
    Event ID : 20070
Point to Point Protocol engine was unable to load the C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\SymRasMan.dll module. The specified module could not be found.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
    2nd Error
    Event ID: 20151
The Control Protocol EAP in the Point to Point Protocol module C:\WINDOWS\System32\rasppp.dll returned an error while initializing. The specified module could not be found. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
    3rd error
    Event ID: 20151
Remote Access Connection Manager failed to start because the Point to Point Protocol failed to initialize. The specified module could not be found.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
    Regsvr32 C:\WINDOWS\System32\rasppp.dll  didn’t help.

I had the same thing happen after uninstalling SAV on my Win2k server. One reboot fixed the problem.  I just saw the same thing happen on the first deboot after uninstalling SEL11RU5 on my Win2003 r2 x64 server.   The messages were gone after tbe next reboot.  Good Luck.

    try this

    Open the Windows Control Panel.

    Double-click Network Connections.

For each network adapter, right-click and then click properties.

Click Teefer2 Driver, then click Uninstall.( If it is there)

Apparently I am stuck with SEP if I want RAS to work. As soon as I reinstalled SEP RAS automagically started working.

It's been a while since I had to deal with that problem.  In my case SEP was uninstalled in preparation for a re-install, so I the re-boot always followed an SEP reinstall.
