<subhead>To install an unmanaged client for Windows:</subhead>

1. Using the serial number, download the installation files fromhttps://fileconnect.symantec.com.
2. Download the appropriate client installer for Windows (32- or 64- bit). The full name is similar to the following:
   <computercode>Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_version_Win*-bit_Client_lang.exe</computercode>
   Where version represents the version of Symantec Endpoint Protection currently available for download, * represents 32 or 64, and langrepresents the language of the software.
3. Copy the installer file to the target computer.
4. Double-click the file you downloaded.
5. Click ... to select the location where you want to save the files, and then click Extract.
6. Open the resultant folder, and then double-click Setup.exe.
7. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation of the unmanaged client.

 
Alternately, you can download Part 1, which is the equivalent of the full DVD layout of the installation disc. The file is a self-extracting archive (.exe).

1. Log on to FileConnect, as noted above, and select the Part 1 file. The full name is similar to the following:
   <computercode>Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_version_Part1_Installation_lang.exe</computercode>
   Where version represents the version of Symantec Endpoint Protection currently available for download, and lang represents the language of the software.
2. Double-click the file you downloaded.
3. Click ... to select the location where you want to save the files, and then click Extract.
4. Navigate to the location to which you extracted the files, and copy the indicated folder to the target computer:
   • For 32-bit Operating Systems: SEP
   • For 64-bit Operating Systems: SEPx64
5. After you copy the folder to the target computer, open the folder and then double-click Setup.exe.
6. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation of the unmanaged client.

 
To upgrade an unmanaged client, you can overinstall with a newer build of Symantec Endpoint Protection. 

After installation completes, you must reboot the computer.

Note: FileConnect also has available for download unmanaged client installers  for Mac and for Linux. If you want unmanaged clients on these platforms, you can download the archive file (.zip), copy to the target Mac or Linux computer, extract using a native archive extraction application, such as Archive Utility on the Mac, and then launch the installer.

Just install the client off the download ISO, it's the unmanaged version
