Good day All!
This may be a stupid question but any help would be great,
Our scenario is such:
We currently have a SEP 11.0.3 ( I know we are a little behind :-) ) install that all our clients subscribe to and all is running well,
We have however recently decided on moving our SEP install to a new server and at the same time upgrading to the latest version (11.0.5).
We have decided to go with a new 'clean' install as we believe our old install maybe slightly suspect and would prefer to start fresh.
This is however where the problem started, we have setup SEP 11.0.5 without any problems, configured all our policies, groups, install packages, etc...
However when attempting to 'push' a new client install package(v 11.0.5) to the client pc's, the client uninstalls the old version and installs the new version
without issue, but does not seem to 'drop' the old sylink, thus after the install completes it still communicates / registers with the old SEP 11.0.3 server.
I have tried both interactive and silent installs aswell as rebooting the pc after the install to now avail. (all installs are run with full admin rights.).
I can manually run a sylink drop and this cause the client to look at the new server as expected.
Is there possibly something I have missed so as to get the clients to look at the correct server (v 11.0.5) once they have finished the
new client install??
Any info would be much appreciated!!
