  • 1.  CMS 7.1 Software Catalog Problem

    Hey all

    I'm hoping someone will be able to help. A couple of strange things are happening with the Software Catalog in CMS 7.1.

    1. When I try moving a new piece of software to the managed list I get an error "There was a problem saving the software product. Check the Altiris logs for further information". But nothing is written to the logs. The software product details screen appears where I enter the category and licensing information, but when I hit save I get the error. This doesn't happen with all software products and there doesn't seem to be any connection between the problematic products.

    2. If I try moving a peice of software out of the 'unmanaged software' list and into 'managed' I get the following Silverlight error:

    When this happens I have to relaunch IE in order to use the Catalog again.
     
    Also, if I try moving it into 'newly discovered' I get a message box asking me if I'm sure I want to delete it (?!) and then nothing happens. 
     
    Apart from this I'm lovin' 7.1!
     
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Did you recently upgrade to SP2?  If so, did you use the Install New Products section of SIM or did you install a bunch of SP2 components using the Updates section?

    We're using CMS 7.1 SP2 but it was a fresh installation, not an upgrade.
