  • 1.  Communication between SEPM and Endpoint

    Hello everyone, I'm new here

Could anyone explain how SEPM starts communicating with Endpoint in detail?

Does SEPM has all the client ip lists to discover the clients? or is there any discovery protocol generated by SEPM or Client?

    Thanks in advance

    Regards, Sangdae Kim

Client will communicate to the SEPM and client's data is updated into SEPM database. when a package is created to install on machine, the package consist of communication file ( sylink) to know which SEPM to communicate to.

The SEP agents can be configured as a managed detector to identify the machines running as unmanaged or not installed .

    Appreciate your prompt answer.

The reason why I asked this question is that my customer wants to replace the SEPM with different ip address.

In this case, How Endpoint recognizes the SEPM and recovers the communication between them?

If I backup both the database and SEPM and apply them into the new server, these backup files contain the client ip address lists and the SEPM now try to discover the clients?

New SEPM discovers the clients -> Clients receive the sylink.xml and send back the session info to SEPM -> Sessions established?

Thus i'd like to know the detail procedure of the establishment between SEPM and SEP.

    Thanks
