Endpoint Protection

Hello, we need to know if Symantec Endpoint Protection is compatible with Diebold Software Solutions (ATM SOFTWARE), does anyone have any experience with this?

I've not seen anything on here specific to issues. Have you installed SEP alongside this software? Have you checked with the vendor on a list of exceptions that may be needed?

Thanks for the post.  I know that SEP is installed on many ATMs (including those made by Dibold).  Under the hood most ATMs run Windows (often old versions like Windows XP!) and that more and more malware is being discovered which attacks them.  It's crucial that those ATMs are protected, whether by SEP or by other products/services like Data Center Security (DCS) and Managed Security Services (MSS) monitoring.

Yes, Symantec Endpoint Protection is compatible with Diebold Software Solutions (ATM SOFTWARE) .

As highlighted above by Mick2009, most of the ATM machines are installed with XP embedded OS used in POS Machines /Thin Client machines.

There is a best practices from symantec endpoint protection runing on POS machines for windows embedded and others .

Symantec Endpoint Protection supports the following common embedded systems on both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems:

• Windows Embedded Point of Service (WEPOS)
• Windows Embedded POSReady 2009
• Windows Embedded POSReady 7
• Windows XP Embedded (XPe)
• Windows Embedded Standard (WES) 2009, 2011, 2012
• Windows Embedded Standard 7 (Windows 7 Embedded)

Please do update this thread with any new questions or with confirmation that you have received your answer.  It is still marked "needs solution."

It will also be helpful to know if SEP Version 14 is already supported by Diebold, since we have customers telling us that diebold has not fully tested or acknowledge this as a supported version.
