  • 1.  Computers Not Showing Identification Information

    Hello everyone,

         I'm noticing a strange issue with 3 of the last 4 agents we have deployed.  When I go into the Altiris 7.1 Console and pull up the computer I'm not seeing the identification section or Hardware sections.  I haven't noticed this before but going through other systems I'm not seeing any with this issue other than this new group.  Any ideas on why this is occuring?  I appreciate the help.

    Does the agent of these machines registered againt NS? Do they have GUID?

    If so, I think they are missing inventory. Send a task to collect these machines Full Inventory. Then after completion, see if the pages are updated.

    In the cosole I can see the workstation and see all the General Info, Symantec Agent Details, Network, Licensed Programs

    If I go to the computer and check the agent I see a computer ID and it's sending tasks back and forth.  I also see it's getting updates.  

    I'll try collecting full inventory and see if that gets it going.  Thanks.

    Sorry for delay.  Tried Gathering Full Inventory and was successful but still didn't see those tabs come through.  I uninstalled and re-installed the agent and that worked on 1 but not the others.

    You have this problem on Enhanced Console View or on "Resource Manager" page as well?

    Check this KB "Activity Center is missing the "Identification" section for some computer resources"

    Here is one with the issue.  The identification tab is missing and also all the other manufacturer tabs like Hardware.

    Is your console not showing both options like the image below?

    If not, like Igor said, maybe your facing Activity Center issue. If it is showing, your machines are missing inventory/basic inventory. Maybe even not having the Symantec Management Agent.

    If you think these machines are sending inventory correctly to the Notification Server, see if your event queue are processing them correctly.
