Is there a reason that you are not able to perform a push or pull image task via the Console when the clients are using DHCP?
We are using the lastest version of GSS. I can load the ghost client, perform inventory tasks, etc, but cannot take an image of the PC unless I set the client to use a static IP address.

The error message on the console is "Details for: To Virtual Partition, Failed to reboot client to recovery partition"
The client does reboot and will start the Ghost session but if fails to get an IP address and returns back a message stating that it can't find a DHCP server.

I've tried multiple different ways (PCDOS, MSDOS, different drivers, etc) and all yeild the same results. The only way to make it work is by setting the client w/ a static IP Address.

This will work fine for most of our PCs since they all use static IPs but our laptops use DHCP and we have been thinking about switching over to all DHCP.

    Hi,

What network cards do you have in the machines?

Does it happen with all the (DHCP) machines you have regardless of the network card?

So far it has happened on two different PCs, one had a Intel Pro 100 and the other a Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx.
Also I forgot to mention that this is all on the same network.

    Thanks

I'm having a similar issue as well.  When I begin the image pull task from the console, the client machine runs sysprep, then boots to dos mode.  I pressed F8 like you suggested and went through the prompts, however when I got to the NGCTDOS file, I selected "Y" to make sure it would do the same thing as I have observed before (and the same as others have observed), and it rebooted.

Upon reboot, it showed the windows splash page, then gave me a couple of errors and said that I had to run setup again because windows was not set up properly.

Hence, I had to put in my windows disk and perform a repair.  I'm in the process right now and hoping that I don't have to carwash the laptop again.

The laptop is an HP NX6325 with a Broadcom NetXtreme.

I am currently evaluating GSS 2.0 for purchase, and needless to say I am a bit disheartened that I cannot update the trial product, and that I am having issues with the most basic task right out of the box.

    Selltekk,

This does not sound like the same problem I am having. I do not use sysprep.

I would suggest starting a new thread about your problem in order not to confuse things here.

Found some threads that seem real similar to my problem. Is there a way for me to get the patch to see if that fixes my problem?

    https://forums.symantec.com/syment/board/message?board.id=109&message.id=2303&view=by_date_ascending&page=1

    According to this thread:
    https://forums.symantec.com/syment/board/message?board.id=109&message.id=4860&query.id=11676#M4860
It mentions Domain name with 8 characters. Ours is actually 14 characters long including the dots. Does this cause a problem?
Not sure if the DHCP packet contain the Domain name or not.
