  • 1.  Customize the "Notify User" message from Application Control

    Posted Apr 23, 2009 01:54 PM
    Hi,

I have checked the "Notify User" check and created a custom message for specific pieces of blacklisted software that our company has identified.

In testing, when I attempted to execute the blacklited software I am unable to run it...works like I thought it should.  But the message that is presented to the user is quite cryptic.  Firstly, a message is displayed on screen about "The handle is invalid", then from the SEP icon on the taskbar a long message "Application and Device Controlrule Block these applications_Create_Process has blocked Explorer.Exe trying to access xxxx.exe", then my messae is displayed.

Is there a way to customize the messages so only what I type in the "Notify Users" box is displayed?

    Thanks,
    Paul

    Hi Paul,

We also tried this many times but cannot customize the message.

    See attached Image.

Agree, I dont see it either.

@Symantec Tech Support : can we please make this a feature modification for MR 2 say?
