I'm trying to validate the execute script section of the GSS Console. I created a simple script (exact copy from the admin guide page 194) to launch notepad. so the script reads "start C:\windows\notepad.exe". I run it and the console reports a :"general error" with a status code of "3". The agent gui shows "Error receiving file: C:windows\TEMP\rxscript.bat" and the aclient log shows error receivign file. CIPCError DoReceivefile...Prettty much the exact same as this guy, but he didnt get a response http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/dagent-cannot-receive-scripts-or-copy-any-files.
Any input is apprecaited.

Hi Slade1040,
I don't see such problems on my side, for same case. Script successfully executes.
Is the BAT file open in another program when you try and send it? If so, close any editor program and try again.
Ya, its def a strange one. Bat file isnt open anywhere, as ghost is creating it and transfering it i believe, i dont touch it execpt throug the console. All i get from the agent log is the repeat of the CIPerror above.
In the global settings there is an option for "Port for client/server datatransfer". I had to enable this option and add an open port (firewall) on our GSS.
