I have just finished imaing over 400 Dell Latitude D600's (Broadcom nic) using GSS 2.0 and 2.01 and ran into the same problem.
When I image the fastest speed I saw to image the computers with 5.5gb compressed image was 30minutes.
That is 3 times longer than imaging a D610 or D620 with a 7.5gb image.
I swapped out every piece of hardware involved. Different ghost cast servers, boot discs, nic drivers.
I think the problem is related to the message I recieved when I launched the Universal Packet Driver with irq it says the nic and the hard drive controller are on the same hardware. Or something like that?
When I originally imaged these computers when we got them I did not have this problem.
Has anyone seen this? Any ideas? I have a few I want to try to get working faster.
