Hello 

We are trying to capture windows 8.1 system. We have set the 3 task

1) Prepare for image capture - Completed

2) Create image - Failed

3) Reboot to production

There are no Ghost logs? If image creation goes wrong, Ghost leave some other file logs, like the ones below. If not, it means everything should have gone smooth.

Is Ghost appearing and closing?

It is strange because there are no log of errors. Does any of your tries of capturing image appears in Settings > All Settings > Deployment > Disk Images?

Is ghost32.exe/ghost64.exe present in your winPE image?

Hi CBZ,

I am referring here to "Log_Tue_May_12_10_05_32_2015" (the only one with a GHOST error).

There is a 401 error in the "GHOSTERR_Tue_May_12_10_05_32_2015" and "ghstwarn_Tue_May_12_10_05_32_2015" logs:

"Date   : Tue May 12 10:05:31 2015
Error Number: 51928
Message: Invalid URL failed to create the image file. 
 HTTP Result: 401, SSL error: 0"

I would check the destination HTTP path for the image and permissions, however, if the fault is intermittent or only with capturing Windows 8.1 I would also consider the following:

- Check if any of the DS7.6 "known issues" applies (http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC8505)

- Sometimes the space assigned to the Automation X drive do not seem to be enough for Windows 8.1 update1

Possible troubleshooting:

• Run "boot to PXE" + "capture backup image" + "Boot to Production" - Does it work or same error returned?

• Increase RAMDRIVE space before capture ( guidelines from article: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/articles/ds-75-increase-ramdrive-space-run-image-deployment)

We have face new issue now.

When we giving task Prepare for Capture image.........Client machine gets the task.............It will run for a minute......suddenly GUID of client machine removed.....it will run long time.

Recent logs of Client system on which we trying to capture image.

I see a number of logs attached (Latest Logs.zip). Some of which are from automation, meaning the machine has rebooted into WinPE..

Instead, if the client does not re-boot and stays on "prepare for image capture", it could be because the sysprep re-arm count has been reached:

Is it only Windows 8.1 giving problems? Can you capture an image of Windows7 or any other OS?
