    Hello Support,

I am current using Symantec endpoint ver 12.1 on all servers and workstation thru my entire domain.

I would like to extend this  VERSION (12.1) to protect my atms .

All the atms are using an older version of Symantec  antivirus  (10 or 11) and it is serving its purpose for the time.

To prepare for the rollout I install Symantec Endpoint 12.1 on a test  Atm  (one I remove from production temporary )

The installing went smoothly but upon reboot I discover the Des Key require for keypad encryption  change  to it default value and not been kept.

I did some troubleshooting a found that Symantec endpoint is not allow  entries to be written to the registry .

How can I disable or create an exception to allow DES keys to be written and save in the registry

    Regards

What components do you have installed? Was this happening due to the AV component?

    What's the exact 12.1 version? Latest is 12.1 RU4 MP1.

As far as I know, there is no option to add registry exclusions.

I would suggest getting in touch with support so they can verify what's going on.

    Hello Brian,

The version is 12.1.2015 2015 . Also brian is there a standalone client installer as found in symantec endpoint 11?

What I currently doing is creating a client package save same to a mobile medium and installing on the end device.

    Hi onetouch,

Definitely get those ATMs protected by something more comprehensive than SAV 10 and SEP 11!  There are serious threats to ATMs in circulation.  For an example, please see:

Texting ATMs for Cash Shows Cybercriminals’ Increasing Sophistication

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/blogs/texting-atms-cash-shows-cybercriminals-increasing-sophistication

Do check your SEP logs on that computer to see if there is a detection on those keys for some reason.  Then contact Tech Support about those reg keys.

    Hope this helps!

    Mick

Yes, there should be a standalone client on the download ISO or you can also grab it from https://fileconnect.symantec.com using your serial key.
