  • 1.  Destination Container Name cannot be converted to Active Directory Form

I am trying to run a clone and configuration task in GSS 1.0, using the Default client configuration which adds the computer to the Domain with the Default computername.

The console enteries contain the correct computer configuration info when the job starts.  The Container already exists in active directory and these computers are in that container when the job starts

I get an error on the Create Machine Account steps.

The destination container name cannot be converted to Active Directory form.
The default Active Directory container will be used instead.

We are running Windows 2003 R2 with and R2 Active Directory Schema.

So, is this just something the Ghost doesn't do, despite claiming that it can or what?  The error isn't particularly helpful.  The AD containers already exist.  It doesn't need to create them, just move the computers into them, when it finishes cloning and adding them to the domain, (adding to the domain is another job that Ghost is totally unreliable for.)

Sounds like the console account does not have rights to create an object in the target container.  This has been poorly documented by Symantec.  Go give it rights and try again.
