    Hi everyone

My doubt is about which are the diferences between endpoint security and endpoint protection.

    Thank you for your help

Need more info and what you mean and/or are looking at. Endpoint Protection (SEP) provides multiple layers of endpoint security (AV, SONAR, Insight, Firewall, IPS). It's probanly one and the same here as to what you're referring to.

    Hello Brian

Thank you for your answer, anyway my question is because in the webpage those are:

    Endpoint security

    https://www.symantec.com/products/endpoint

    Endpoint protection

    https://www.symantec.com/products/endpoint-protection

Is endpoint security a cloud solution or is endpoint protection part of a bigger solution called endpoint security which offers SEP, SEP mobile, EDR an SEP Cloud?

    Thank you.

SEP 14 is on-prem and does provide AI, Deception, EDR, and Hardening. It also has a tie-in to the cloud portal starting with RU1 and works in conjunction with ATP. Endpoint Security also does the same. To me, both of these pages are confusing and they essentially do the same thing. They really should be combined. If you scroll down on the 'endpoint security' page it references SEP 14. To me, it's about SEP 14, which what this is really about.

    Hello,

I would suggest you to read the BLOG: Cloud Generation Endpoint Security – Protect Your Users Everywhere and On All Devices by Sri Sundaralingam (Head of Product Marketing (Enterprise Security Products))

    https://www.symantec.com/blogs/product-insights/cloud-generation-endpoint-security

    and

Learn more about SEP14.1, integrated EDR, and SEP Mobile in the Webinar.

Symantec Endpoint Security for the Cloud Generation brings together deception technology, Mobile Threat Defense, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR). The solution is built on the company’s Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) platform, and delivers the aforementioned capabilities in a single agent. According to Symantec, the single agent model allows increased monitoring, while reducing operational complexity.

Key features of the new release include:

Deception at Scale –  Attackers can be led to a false environment, served up fake assets and information – essentially leading them on a “wild goose chase” – while the security team works to neutralize the attack.

Mobile Threat Defense through SEP Mobile – SEP Mobile delivers mobile threat defense, helping organizations protect both BYOD and corporate-owned devices, across modern mobile operating systems, including iOS and Android.

Endpoint Detection and Response – Symantec EDR Cloud enhances investigator productivity with pre-built incident response playbooks that bring the skills and best practices of experienced security analysts to any organization while lowering costs.

Signatureless Protection – SEP 14.1 applies advanced machine learning techniques and behavioral analysis to enable intensive protection that can be optimized for customer environments.

Symantec Endpoint Protection with Hardening – SEP Hardening prevents vulnerability exploits including zero-day attacks and mitigates damage from attacks by shielding and isolating suspicious and malicious activity targeted toward commonly used applications.
