  • 1.  Disable PTP & NTP - Wrong install package

    Posted Oct 08, 2014 11:00 AM

    Hi Everyone,

The wrong install package was used deploying 12.1.4112.4156 to an important collection of servers. Now, both the PTP and NTP are installed after our mainteance window server restarts last night. If I attach the proper install package in the SEPM, will the servers require a restart? I'm trying to avoid restarts if it all possible. Any idea's would be appericated. Thanks!

    Mike

Yes, a restart is needed. Any time NTP (specifically the firewall). is installed or removed, a restart is needed to complete the process.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

Yes, reboot is required in that case as well.

Time bing I would suggest keep both the features but if they are causing any issue move all those servers in separate group and withdraw PTP & NTP policies.

During non production hours can remove the features permanantly to reboot the servers.

Thank you for the responses. I was afraid of that. The policies that I am looking for would be -

    Firewall policy

    Intrusion Prevention policy

    Application and Device Control Policy

    Correct?
