Hi,
We are running a dedicated SEPM [Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.5] to manage SEP Client on Linux servers.
SEP Client info on server-1.
[root@server-1 symantec_antivirus]# ./sav info -d
11/17/2014 rev. 1
[root@server-1 symantec_antivirus]# ./sav info -p
12.1.5 (12.1 RU5) build 5337 (12.1.5337.5000)
During the implementation, it was suggested by Symantec to have 3GB free space on /tmp, and 4GB free space on /opt, before deploying the SEP Client.
However, as per the below document, since the 'Default Installation Directory' & the 'Working Directory' are part of /opt, so, it seems that we need 7GB in /opt itself (and not in /tmp).

The document below states we need 5GB space on the Linux servers

Questions:
As of now, on our servers
/opt/Symantec/LiveUpdate/tmp =>1.7GB
/opt/Symantec/virusdefs => 2.6GB
- Once installed and updated, what is the minuimum disk space required in /opt at any given point of time?
- Since 5GB is too much for an AV Client [without FW, IPS, ADC], is there a way, virus definition updates can be placed somewhere on the LAN, and make the client query/download them from the network share.
Thanks,
Jimmy
