    Hi all,

I have a problem with spam, now sms smtp installed is 5.01. Incoming spam ranges from 84% to 99% every day with the configuration settings for spam scoring 75-89 and when scoring 65-89 spam still 84% to 99%

How to setting config sms smtp 5.01 for divert spam.

    Agus,

I am not sure that I completely understand your question.  What action are you currently taking on Spam and Suspected Spam?  I would start with Deleting Spam.  If an average of 90% of your incoming email is Spam this is actually not unheard of infact it is very common to see an average of 95% of inbound mail being Spam.  I have listed a link below on an older document that has some good info for SMTP Throttling.

Title: 'How to penalize spammers using SMTP Traffic Shaping / Spam Attack or Spam Throttling on a Symantec Mail Security Server'

    Hi Agus,

the spam scoring you are changing affects suspected spam and my first guess is that the percentages you mentioned don't change because suspected spam is not counted as spam. Suspected Spam and Spam are two different things.
Could you please provide with more details on how are you getting those percentages?

    Thanks,

    Federico
