    Hi,

I am looking for some confirmation / a potential solution around outlook webmail and potential sensitive data sorted within outlook mailboxes.

If I was to email myself internally within my organisation a list of credit card numbers, for example, and then log in to outlook webmail external to the organisation, would DLP pick up this email?  As it would not have actually left the organisation's permiter.

Does DLP have the capability to scan data within outlook mailnboxes?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello,

You could use Network discover to scan exchange server from 2007 version.

You can check in DLP admin guide at page 1286.

     Regards

As Stephane noted we can scan the exchange backend via Network Discover. We could also find the information within the organization when you first sent it via Outlook preventing you from sending the infornation unencrypted. We could also use Web Prevent to proxy the OWA session as it was going out so you would not be able to get the email contents from outside hte network. So there are mutliple potential interception points for this use case.
