  • 1.  DLP Blocking endpoints to nonsecure network shares

I am trying to setup rules on my DLP 14 endpoint agents that will stop them from writing to none secure shares. The problem I seem to have is how to specifiy the shares that are allowed or the shares that are not allowed. I can't go by share letter since that is not consistent enough to rely on. Any thoughts or solutions (prefered)?

    Thank you,

    Matt

    Hello,

You can't add exceptions to the Network Shares Monitoring based on Name structure and DLP does not support IP filter for Network shares.

It means that you can control all network shares the same way or not control any (when activating the network shares in the agent config monitoring).

I have been told by Symantec that this is a known issue. The Product Management team have already opened an Enhancement request on this issue. Enhancement Request PM-1685.
