  • 1.  Does CMS 7 and Asset Management 7 play nice together

    Hi there,

    We are getting ready to migrate to CMS 7.0 and would like to know from those that have, did you also upgrade your asset management client or stay at version 6. What issues did you face?

    When did AM 7 come out?

    Is there a demo anywhere?

     Good evening,

    Currently Asset is still in beta, right now it is in release candidate stage, available at beta.altiris.com if you would like to try it.  AMS is being released as a part of IT Management Suite which is Client Management Suite (including DS 7.1), Server Management Suite, Workflow, Asset and Service Desk.

    They will play very nice together

    Some components of AM7 are out (since July of 09) like Connector, CMDB solution.

    Contract Management is currently "Release Candidate" in V7 and is (fingers crossed) coming out next month.

    I'll be doing an off box migration with Connectors updating information back to that old server, because my Helpdesk solution is still there.  I intend on doing a fairly comprehensive set of articles on my migration process once the product is released for production. 

    I do enjoy Asset 7.
