  • 1.  Does DS cache client data?

Kind of an off the wall question here. Here's the background.

Running DS 6.9 SP1 Build 365 on two servers (002 and 003). Running NS along with the SQL on 001 server.

The other day, due to an issue with bandwidth we had to null route the 001 server, effectively making it unreachable. However, we can still see all the machines on 002/003, send jobs, image etc. I thought most of this was stored on the SQL, but obviously there is some backup of some kind somewhere on these DS 002 and 003 servers.

So my question is, where is this information stored? If I need to give more info just let me know.

When you say you had to "null route the 001 server", what exactly did you do?  If the server is still online and possibly on the same subnet and/or same switch as 002 and 003, those servers may still be getting their data from 001, the clients don't communicate directly with SQL.

I'm not aware of any caching going on.
