  • 1.  Does Quick Delivery force detection checks?

In SMP7.1, does a Quick Delivery run through the detection rules for a pre-defined package?  Or do you have to do a Managed Delivery for this to happen?  For example, if I have a detection rule for registry key exists/whatever, does it NOT install if the registry key exists like in a managed delivery?

Also, does 7.1 enhance Quick Delivery to force dependencies to be installed automatically?  In 7.0 you could only have this take place via a Managed Delivery Policy.

Unfortunately I've not been able to test this so if anyone knows it would be most helpful.

No, no advanced checks occur during a Quick Delivery.  This does not change in 7.1.  You must use a Managed Software Delivery if you want to use detection checks, applicability rules, and so forth.  This is explained in the Software Management guide.

Thanks for the reply.  And by the way, I couldn't find it in the guide, which is why I asked...  It's not the easiest guide to follow (jumping from here to there, no screenshots etc).
