Most of the time when I run into a road block with the SEP install. Windows Defender is ALWAYS there. I have been having more and more machines where I needed to install an unmanaged client, then transition it to a managed client. I can't figure out why. There are NO SEP_INST.LOGS ever written when this happens.

You need to disable the windows defender service because of compatibility issue.

Microsoft Windows Defender service will not start after installing Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP)

use this reference while installing it on clients

By pushing out from the SEPM, how is this done?

DISABLEDEFENDER= (1 = Disable Windows Defender, 0 = Do not disable Windows Defender, Default is 1 = Disable Windows Defender)

Have to manually install via the SEP folder and  add the Sylink.xml to manage. :-\
